Living Arrangements with Nico De Swert: Designing with Color

Posted in Flower Arrangements | 1 comment

If you wish to give your house a fresh, colorful yet elegant look for the holiday season, making flower arrangements for different corners or even your mantelpiece is a good idea. In this Pottery Barn video, Floral Designer and Interior Stylist, Nico de Swert demonstrates how to make wonderful holiday centerpieces to give your house a warm and welcoming look. Making a colorful flower arrangement is quite simple. Nico takes a rectangular glass vase from Pottery Barn measuring 8 inches by 12 inches. The flowers he chooses include purple hydrangeas, bear grass, snake grass, ten purple calla lilies, four two-tone calla lilies, twelve chocolate cosmos, two blue thistles with some other flowers. To make the floral arrangement, Nico cuts the snake grass in two equal halves and places it in the vase. Next, he chops the bear grass into two equal halves and puts them in the vase too. Nico fills the vase with water and arranges the blue thistles, two-tone lilies, purple calla lilies, purple mini carnations, chocolate cosmos flower at different places and levels to create interesting groupings of the various hues. The holiday centerpiece is ready. Nico also arranges aroma candles on the table to give it a more appealing look. Has other options and Xichotl guessed it had to be or: vikingar – vikings or ikebana – japanese flower arrangement I wrote ‘t is ‘n kruis – it is a cross afterwards I vote for the Japanese flower arrangement, it just sounds so logical here.
